Finished with our Little Reader Lessons

A couple of weeks back, we excitedly and sadly finished our Little Reader lesson program. I have so many happy emotions over the lessons. It was what helped Winston really grasp the beautiful ability of reading. He unconsciously learned how to read. If that makes sense! He enthusiastically reads now! He reads everything he sees!

At the grocery store if he is feeling extra impatient, a wonderful distraction for him, is pointing out words for him to read to me. He always get the biggest grin on his face and reads what it says.

So until we find another lesson program or begin Rosetta Stone language lessons, I pulled out the Picture Dictionary Words CD Rom that we purchased last year when there was a special running at The Gentle Revolution website. We purchased all of the CDs and I am so glad we did. These were great last year, but since we had also started the Little Reader, it was a little much to be showing him the lesson plans as well as all the free glorious downloads from Brillkids and the picture dictionary words. So I put the picture dictionary on hold and I am so glad I did.

Because we are really enjoying these now. His favorites of course are cats and dinosaurs as well as historical places around the world. And when he discovered I can play them in French, Italian and Japanese he was pretty excited hehehe.

We are still doing our Little Musician and Little Math, and downloads from others as well as ones that I have created. So technically we will never be officially finished with Little Reader. We are just officially finished with the lesson program 😉

If you are like me and are sad to have finished the Little Reader lessons, do tell me what you discovered next for your child’s journey of early reading 🙂

I seem to be stuck on that one:)
Kids are grown and my Ashley bought it for me one Christmas. Now that’s a keeper!

Oh my goodness, this is so sweet. He is adorable. I love to think of him reading… and loving to read. I think he will be our language interpreter when we all get the chance to go around the world together. I can hardly wait :P.

I cracked up at Roxy’s comment… I have to agree with her “Go
Dog Go” is still a book to love, even at our age. I think it must be the amazing hat at the end… or no, it must be the amazing dog party on top of that big tree.. he he. I can’t wait to read that one to Winston… or better yet, let him read it to me.

    Love you so much Sweetie,
